DBMS MARDI GRAS INFO!! The dance will be held after school Feb. 3rd from 3:25 - 5:30pm. Students who have been suspended or receive a major referral from Wednesday, January 18 to Friday, February 3rd will NOT be allowed to attend the celebration or dance. Students who attend the dance must wear formal attire or uniform shirt with uniform pants. NO uniform shorts, NO jeans. Only 7th grade and 8th grade may attend the dance. All 7th grade and 8th grade students must check in no later than 11 am to participate in these events. Students who check out during the day will not be allowed to check back in and return to the events. Bickham's Best: Missy Flournoy She is always positive and smiling! She greets everyone with a bright smile everyday. Her laugh is infectious, and seeing her brings a smile to my face. She treats the students that she works with with the upmost respect. She even handles challenges and difficult situations with a smile on her face. She always has a smile on her face. She loves on the kids giving them encouragement, help, and redirection when needed. She goes above and beyond for the teachers that she helps. She is a ray of sunshine! She goes from class to class all day long helping students with very little downtime. AND Kalvndia Opbroek She is encouraging and helpful as I am taking on many new unfamiliar territories this year. She always has my back and is my right hand go to. She puts all of herself into her work, she's flexible, helpful and encouraging. She really gets to know her students she understands their needs.

Once again, the Blanchard community and the Donnie Bickham staff have shown how remarkable this community truly is. This year our Presents for Patriots program sponsored more children than it ever has. Thanks to their generosity, we were able to provide Christmas toys and clothing to 68 children in 26 families. Over 550 items were donated to help OUR kids have a wonderful Christmas. Thank you to everyone that helped to make this possible. You, the community, are the reason why this year was such a success. Merry Christmas!

If you are interested in signing your DBMS student up for after school tutoring, please go to Documents for more information. We will start our program after Christmas break. Students will stay after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4:45. Parents must be able to pick their child up promptly at 4:45 for them to attend this program. Congratulations to this week’s BICKHAM’S BEST! Sheila Guin She has been SO helpful and friendly to me as a new teacher at DB. She's always so positive and has a smile on her face. I also could very quickly tell that she has a good relationship with so many students here at DB. No one is more cheerful, happy and friendly as she is. She makes sure to talk to and say hi to as many students as she can. Their face lights up when students see her. I never hear negativity coming from her. And this year, that is hard. She deserves recognition! She perseveres through her own storms and does not allow it to effect her interactions with the kids. She is always on time and punctual to class. The kids love her and she does an amazing job as a para! Life would be very difficult without her. Katy Gorum She is always willing to help out any way she can. She keeps our Bickham's Best board up to date, she volunteers to decorate for the dances or any other activities we have. She has great ideas and is a team player! Not only does Katy teach an ELA class and Inclusion, but she also goes above and beyond to help our school climate to be positive. In addition to dedication in the classroom, she always steps up to do things such as the pictures for our Bickham's Best board and helping teachers when she can. Congratulations to Bickham's Best (week of Nov. 28) Billy Cloutet He is very dedicated to providing his robotics students with the best instruction and experiences they will never forget. He is always at work and when he isnt his sub plans are always readily available and easy to follow. You will always see him at his duty spot actively monitoring the students making sure everyone is safe and in the right place. He works hard to share his passion of robotics and technology with the students and is always out there on bus duty each and every day helping to guide students along. Tonya Herbert She is always there when I have a question. She goes out of her way to help me when I need it. She is a blessing! We are so blessed to have someone on campus who knows so much about medical stuff. I feel better having her in the office taking care of students who are sick or injured. She is organized and very knowledgeable about the operations of the school! Classes are sure to be covered thanks to Mrs. Herbert!
