May 12, 2022

Dear Parents:

It is that time of year when we must say goodbye to our 8th grade students.  There will be two ceremonies in the auditorium on Friday, May 20, 2022 and parents/family are invited to the ceremony.  See the list below to determine which ceremony your child will participate in.

9:00 - 9:30  am:      R. Smith, Hailey, Fabio, Gordon, J. Green, Watson

9:45 – 10:15 am    :  Stanberry, Newton, Crotwell, M. Smith, Cloutet, Lee, Benedict, Cheathem

During the ceremony, all students will receive a certificate for completing middle school, along with other various academic awards and certificates.  Students that check out after the program may not return for the afternoon activities.

After the program, students will return to their class and continue their regular schedule through lunch. After lunch, all 8th graders will report to the student center for afternoon activities. Students may change into appropriate shorts and shirts. Students may not check out after the ceremony and then check back in for the afternoon activities. Students must attend the ceremony in order to attend the afternoon activities – no late check-ins.

Since this is a ceremony, the students are required to wear nice Sunday clothes or their school uniform (no shorts) for the ceremony.  Dress must be appropriate for school and follow Caddo Parish dress code.  Girls should wear a nice dress, skirt, pants, jumpsuit, or their school uniform – no shorts.  Shirts must be an appropriate length. Spaghetti straps, strapless tops or strapless dresses are not allowed without a cardigan or shawl worn over them.  Length should be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee.   Boys must wear nice pants and shirts, a suit or their school uniform – no shorts.  If you have any questions about what you are wearing, ask your teacher or an administrator.

If you have any questions, please call the school.  Thank you for your continued help and support.  We hope this will be a fun-filled, memorable day for our 8th grade students!

Please sign and return to your homeroom teacher by May 17, 2022. If you do not return this form, you will not be able to participate.
